I build connected systems for a living, and have done since 2016. Most of that work has been for international clients on deployments large enough that the mistakes get expensive, including a spell overseeing the operation of 400,000 gateways for a globally funded startup.

My work sits where hardware meets software: choosing devices that hold up in the field, building the connectivity and data infrastructure behind them, and handing the whole thing over with source code, documentation and training so your team can run it without me. I work independently, with no ties to any vendor or manufacturer, which is the only reason a recommendation from me is worth anything.

The technology varies with the problem. A site with mains power and an existing network is a different question from a pump station three kilometres from anything, and the answer might be cellular, a low-power radio, wired fieldbus, or all three feeding the same pipeline. What does not vary is the part underneath: ingest that does not lose readings, storage that still answers quickly in year five, and dashboards built for the people who open them every morning.

Infrastructure of this kind either runs quietly for years or it becomes everyone's problem, and the difference is usually in the details, so I give them the attention they deserve. That same discipline is what keeps projects on schedule. What you get at the end is a system that is stable and reliable, delivered on time.

If there is one principle behind all of it, it is to think long term. That shapes the hardware I specify, the architecture I choose, and the way I work with the people I build for. Deployments are rarely finished when they go live, and I am there for what comes next.
